Early Detection Saves Lives
ANNUAL ACTIVITIES & OUTREACH PROGRAMS
Over the years the Breast Cancer Awareness Initiative has engaged in several outreach programs. These include:
- First fund raising activity - Gala Breast Cancer Awareness Dinner at the Montserrat Cultural Centre 2009.
- Mammogram information evenings with Dr Eumel Samuel of the Belmont Clinic and other guests.
- Visit to the Spanish community via the Seventh Day Adventist church
- Breast Health-check clinic
- Pink Day - The public was encouraged to participate and decorate their offices and workspaces in honour of those lost from the disease, survivors and those now fighting breast cancer.
- Pink Ribbon Walk from Lookout Community Centre
- T-shirt and pink ribbon pin sales
- Fundraising activities organised by the Governor's office
- Church Services - held at various churches on island
- The Pink Ribbon Charity Barbeque - held at Olveston House
- Talking Health Radio program with the Health Promotions Department
- Bingo
